August17
Sunday, and a 25mile hilly ride on the bike, followed by a short, easy run. This combo is called a "brick", and the purpose is to teach the body how to transition from the bike muscles to the run muscles. This is the most painful part of a triathlon for many participants. I have been fortunate that I don't get the sharp pain some people feel, but practice & establishing muscle memory can always help.
