June 7 - AMBBR TAHOE CENTURY - done

Just a brief report, more to come. In beautiful weather in a beautiful place, more than 1700 Team in Training riders (out of 3000 total) rode America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride around and near Lake Tahoe on June 7. Those 1700 people raised more than $6.8 MILLION dollars to help cure Leukemia, lymphoma and related blood cancers. You, my supporters, contributed more than $8000 of that total. Thank you so much.
The Connecticut team was 31 strong, and everyone finished the 100 miles. I rode as part of a trio with two really strong riders: Marc Weiss and Michelle Maturo, both TnT coaches. Working together, we completed the course in 6 hours, eleven minutes of saddle time (with bathroom & food breaks, we were on the course 7:25). Average speed: 16.2 mph. I had gone into training thinking that seven hours ride time would be great, so the 6:11 was pretty exciting. I'll write more later, but the excitement of the finish left me anything but tired. I stayed at the finish line for more than three hours to cheer my teammates across the line.
