Niantic Sprint Triathlon - Aug. 3
Ten TnTers participated in today's Niantic Sprint Triathlon (.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3.4 mile run). I cut almost 3 minutes off last year's swim time, but newbie Stephanie Mismas SMOKED the swim with a time of 12:11 for a half mile, second woman out of the water. Coach Becky, who was just seconds behind me last year, cruised in ahead of me this year by almost 3 minutes. I was 122 out of 398 finishers (about 30% into the field) and ran under 8 minute miles, so I was pleased overall. I really messed up the first transition (swim to bike), though, and it cost me a prize, as I was just 21 seconds behind the 3rd in my age group. It was great to hang out under the TnT tent with all my teammates afterwards. This group thing is wonderful. Everybody finished, and no one were last, so the TnT crowd did very well!

You did amazing and smoked me on the run.... I will have to work on that :)
Of course Stephanie was awsome, 2nd woman out of the water with a time of 12:11 for the half mile, more than 3 minutes ahead of me. I did not catch her until we dismounted the bike together. By Nation's, she'll be running like a gazelle.
